About the 10:10 Life and My Journey…
I have grappled with many of life’s hurdles. And what was really holding me back… was me.
After doing the work and going through life’s winding journey, I noticed an inner barrier keeping me from going for “it”.
“It” was living out my calling, having the courage to walk in the power I already possessed in God.
I discovered that in Christ, I am more than my past.
Even in the Enemy’s attempts to destroy my life and dreams, I possess a power to live and love that is from God. I hold myself accountable to live a full, bold, active, powerful, and enjoyable life – all words that represent the possibilities in a life led through Christ’s power and for God’s glory.
A little about my background…
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Marriage Counselor for residents in Texas. I am also a Board-Certified Life Coach and Couples Communication Coach.
Through these avenues, I am passionate about partnering with couples as they navigate the stages of their relationship, manage conflict, deepen their friendship, and repair past hurts.
I also have a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Old Dominion University, a Master of Arts in Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary, and a Master of Divinity from Regent University.
I am trained in the Gottman Method Couples Therapy, a Gottman Seven Principles Couples Program Leader, Emotionally Focused Therapy Certified, and a Prepare/Enrich Group Facilitator.
I have been married to my best friend and husband for 38 years. Together we have four incredible children. We dedicate our lives to using all that we have been through-good and bad-in the service of others.
“Janel gave us tools to assist us in rebuilding our broken communication.
She helped us learn to express issues that were bothering us, but to establish a “safe space” where either spouse could share problems without the other spouse feeling under attack.”
